Introduction
A word from the owner
Our estate is situated on the clay-limestone plateaux of the Libournais, on the commune of Lussac, next to Saint Emilion.
This privileged situation is the essential ingredient of our high-class wines.
In August 2001, we acquired the estate and since have tried to maintain its unique personality with immense potential.
Although new to wine-growing we've been round and about France and neighbouring countries for a number of years, namely Strasbourg, Paris, Brussels ...
Since our arrival on the property, the strive for quality has become our strategic orientation leading to investments in the vineyard.
Our production under the label "Château Lion Perruchon" is declined in 3 vintages, with a distinctive and yet complementary character.
«Les Nauves» combines simplicity and authenticity, it maintains its fruit aromas.
«Tradition» vouches for the work accomplished over the years. It's liquorice and cherry aromas will greet the unconditionals.
«La Griffe» " changes as the years go by, but remains both subtle and profound, it ages in small capacity oak vats, for long keeping.
The wines are best when served with red meats, duck, game and cheese.
We wish you great pleasure.

Introduction
The estate
Situated in the commune of Lussac, the estate lies 7 KM North-East of Saint-Emilion and 10 KM from Pomerol.
The vineyard covers 10 hectares of a limestone-clay hilltop and is wholly situated in the Lussac Saint-Emilion Appellation. It surrounds the local village and the storehouse.
The grape varieties are classically 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.
Introduction
History
The estate was founded during the 16th century.
For the past 30 years the property was managed by Mr and Mrs Thézard. Over the years they grouped the different land plots to create an almost uninterrupted vineyard.
Year after year they improved the cultivation and the vinification methods. Hereby raising "Chateau Lion-Perruchon" to the top level in its appellation, with award wining vintages and honours quoted in specialised press.
In August 2001 a new breeze blows over the property, the keys to the estate are entrusted to us.

Introduction
The wine storehouse
The wine is entirely elaborated in the Château Lion-Perruchon storehouse.
The wine storehouse is composed of concrete and stainless steel vats electronically thermo-regulated, an ageing area and a bottling and conditioning area. For ageing, French oak barrels are used exclusively and are renewed by half every year.

Introduction
The grapes
The grapes are grown in a natural ecosystem; this environment allows to drastically reduce the use of fertilisers and pesticides.
Productivity has been reduced to 50 hectolitres/hectare (45 hl/ha for certain plots) which is 20% less than the maximum authorised amounts.
The grapes are hand-picked, plot by plot, and manually sorted. The vinification takes place in small capacity, thermo-regulated vats, thus respecting the plot origin and enabling perfect control of temperature during fermentation.
